ZÜBLIN Umwelttechnik is pushing for further development of PFAS soil washing: together with the University of Augsburg, innovative approaches are being researched to specifically improve the washing result in the fine fraction.

Recycling the fine fraction not only reduces disposal costs, but also conserves valuable landfill space. The focus of the research project is on process engineering "upscaling", so that the solutions developed can be transferred from the laboratory/technical scale to the project scale - the knowledge is thus directly incorporated into our PFAS Terra Pure® process. The name of the research cooperation "BoReF" stands for the further development of soil washing for PFAS-contaminated soils with a focus on recycling the fine fraction.

Where others stop, we start - clean solutions right down to the fine fraction!

The research project started in April 2025 with a kick-off at the soil washing plant in Wittmundhafen. The project is being funded by the Bavarian Transformation and Research Foundation with 430,000 euros.
