Emergency response following an oil tank accident: Water treatment plant protects sensitive bathing and surface waters
Oil tank failure
On Whit Sunday, the fire department in southwestern Palatinate was called out to deal with a film of oil on ponds and the River Sauer. The cause was a faulty double-walled GRP tank in a nearby building, from which oil had leaked into the groundwater and the waterways. The fire department prevented the oil from spreading further and contained it using absorbent materials and oil booms.
Various media outlets have reported on the oil tank accident.
Immediate response within a few days
To prevent the leaked oil from spreading further, Züblin Umwelttechnik GmbH delivered a groundwater treatment plant within a matter of days. Thanks to our expertise and the modules we had in stock, we were able to set up and commission a fully functional plant on site very quickly.
Further information on the core component of the treatment plant can be found in the new one-pager: BW-COMPACT
