COIRE GLAS Exploratory works, Kilfinnan Scotland
As part of a feasibility study for a pumped hydroelectric power station on the banks of Loch Lochy in the Scottish Highlands, a 1000 m long test tunnel is being constructed using the drill and blast method. Alkaline tunnel water contaminated with sediment has to be neutralized and purified before being discharged into the adjacent Loch Lochy.
