Mobile test facility with activated carbon and ion exchange resin, Cologne

Following previous laboratory tests, a test plant was operated at the Cologne site for two months to test the capacity and service life of different filter materials. The raw water was contaminated with PAHs and cyanides; due to the high pH, only strongly basic anion exchange resins were possible.
During the test period, the ion exchange resins used proved their worth despite strongly fluctuating flow rates and raw water concentrations, allowing further measures at the site to be designed and developed.
