The remediation and preparation for construction of part of 50 hectares has been carried out since 2017 as part of a consortium under the technical management of ZÜBLIN Umwelttechnik. In addition to execution, the consortium is also responsible as a total contractor for selecting suitable measures, implementation planning, approval and documentation for official release from the register of contaminated sites. Following the remediation of the site, it will be gradually developed into an "Innovation Campus" for future-oriented technologies in the automotive sector.
History
- 1965 to 2008 Refinery operation
- 2009 to 2013 Dismantling of the refinery
- 2017 Commissioning of the refurbishment of construction sites 2&3 to the consortium consisting of ZÜBLIN Umwelttechnik, STRABAG Umwelttechnik and the Geiger group of companies
- 2023: Proof of achievement of the remediation targets
Scope of services
- Remediation as a total contractor: planning and official approval, execution, assumption of extended refurbishment responsibility
- Soil-washing plant with enclosure and ancillary facilities: design, construction, operation, dismantling
- Conventional excavation and excavation using the honeycomb method
- Simulation, installation and operation of hydraulic barrier with over 230 m³/h
- Construction and operation of groundwater treatment plant with well gallery
- Construction and dismantling of measuring points for groundwater and soil gas
- Design, construction and operation of 8 air sparging systems with exhaust air treatment: regenerative post-combustion, catalytic oxidation (CATOX), flare (TNV) or air activated carbon filter
- Land filling
In addition, parking spaces had to be made available for the neighboring sports facility during the project, and the resulting need to relocate parking spaces had to be incorporated into the construction process.
