Compact system for treating contaminated water on the airport site

The use of PFAS-containing extinguishing foams at various locations on the airport site has caused various soil and groundwater contamination. In order to prevent the pollutants from spreading further, the contaminated groundwater is collected via extraction wells and infiltration trenches and transported via the new groundwater purification system. This consists of several activated carbon containers in which the pollutants are adsorbed onto an activated carbon specially suited for PFAS (PFAS optima®) and thus removed from the water.
