Treatment plant for groundwater with PFAS-pollution

Relevant concentrations of the pollutant group PFAS were detected in the catchment area of the Tegel waterworks. The groundwater from the contaminated wells is routed to a purification plant where it is cleaned of PFAS after pre-treatment to remove impurities.

  • PFOS: approx. 700 ng/L, PFOA: approx. 40 ng/L, PFHxS: approx. 500 ng/L
  • Iron / manganese: approx. 1.4 mg/L / approx. 0.4 mg/L

  • Purification performance: 1 ng/L single substance PFOS, PFOA, PFNA and PFHxA
